Lansing Psychological Associates (LPA) is currently seeking motivated and dedicated Psychiatrists (MD or DO) to join our expanding outpatient mental health team in East Lansing, Michigan.

We are a well-established private practice with over 40 years of service in the Mid-Michigan community. Our multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers who are passionate about delivering high-quality, client-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Set and manage schedules with clients
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up appointments
  • Collaboratively develop and implement treatment plans
  • Deliver medication management and coordinate care
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Meet periodically with the Clinical Director for support and professional growth
  • Collaborate with administrative and clinical team members

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Psychiatrist (MD or DO) — active license through LARA (no “in progress” licenses)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong computer proficiency for EHR and scheduling tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills

We take care of the administrative burdens, providing a seamless, stress-free work environment for therapists looking to build a caseload in the afternoons, evenings, or Saturdays.

The Position

We are seeking a fully licensed, self-motivated psychotherapist to join our team part-time. This role is ideal for clinicians who are passionate about clinical work and want to avoid the “administrative headache” of private practice or for therapists that want to work towards a full-time practice.

What We Offer (Administrative Support)

  • Credentialing: In-house assistance with credentialing on major insurance panels.
  • Billing: Full billing services, insurance verification, and claims management.
  • Scheduling: Dedicated administrative staff to handle intake scheduling and client inquiries.
  • EHR System: Access to a modern Electronic Health Record system.
  • Marketing: Consistent referral pipeline.
  • Office Space: Professional, furnished, and comfortable in-person office space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual, couple, or family therapy sessions.
  • Provide high-quality outpatient care in the afternoons/evenings or on Saturdays.
  • Complete intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings, where you can connect with coworkers and continue to build clinical skills.

Requirements

  • License: Active license in Michigan (LMSW, LMFT, LPC, LLP, LP).
  • Experience: 2+ years of clinical experience.
  • Availability: Must be available for at least 2–3 evenings per week (after 3 PM) or Saturdays.
